Segments – How to reach your customers in a targeted manner
Segments allow you to group customers according to specific criteria in order to carry out targeted campaigns and personalized communication based on behavior, points scores, or other characteristics.

📊 How segmentation works
You can manage your segments in the dashboard under Customers → Segments. You can view and edit existing segments or create new ones.
🔹 Automatic segments
Your app automatically creates segments based on factors such as registration date, points score, or activity.
🔹 Custom segments
You can set your own rules, for example:
- Customers with over 1,000 points
- Customers who have been active in the last 30 days
- VIP customers with high interaction

📊 Automatic segmentation – How it works
Customers can be automatically assigned to a segment based on specific conditions. This makes it easier to target them and saves time in administration.
🔹 Possible criteria for automatic assignment:
- 📉 Inactivity – contacts that have not been active for X days
- ⭐ Number of points – Customers with more or less than a certain number of points
- 🕒 Registration time – Segment new or long-standing customers
- 🔄 Filter customers from existing segments according to another segment
- 🎁 Redeemed reward – Users who have redeemed certain rewards
- 🌍 Language – Assignment based on preferred language in the app
- 🚻 Gender & age – Group target groups according to demographic characteristics
- 🔑 Login method – Users are differentiated depending on whether they log in via email, Apple ID, or Google.
- 🏆 Challenge participation – Customers who have completed certain challenges
- 🎟 Account (stamp card, gift card) – Segment users with specific bonus programs
- 🔧 CMS & Fraud Status – Utilize Technical Settings & Security Features
- 🔔 Notification settings – Who has enabled push or email notifications
- ⭐ Customer status - VIP, Gold, Premium member
- 🔑 Employees
- 🌻Preferences - Vegan , vegetarian
- 🌍 Areas - e .g., pet ownership: cat owners, dogs
- 📝 Custom fields – Create individual criteria according to your own requirements
📌 Tip: Automatic segments are updated continuously, ensuring that your target groups always remain up to date.
*Custom fields: There are countless individual applications that we cannot list here. With custom fields, users can be automatically segmented in the app if this option is selected.

🛠 Step by step: Creating a segment
1️⃣ Navigate to "Customers" → "Segments" in the dashboard.
2️⃣ Click "Create automatic segment " or "Create manual segment. "
- Automatic segments adapt dynamically and update themselves according to defined conditions. Learn more.
- Manual segments contain fixed contacts that you select individually.
